Family Support/Comfort Food

“‘I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’” ~Matthew 25:36-40

Respite care for caregivers, friendly visits to those who are disabled or home-bound for any period of time, and homemade meals are available for individuals and families who are in need of these services in times of joy such as the birth of a child or times of stress or illness. Meals can be delivered to your door without a visit.

Family Support also supports efforts concerning women’s, men’s, and general family health issues. This may include referrals for caregiving, connecting individuals to prayer partners and mentors (perhaps someone who has gone through a similar experience), and support programs available in the local community. These referrals are made for a support role, and are meant to be in addition to, not in lieu of, professional medical care.

Additionally, some advice is available for families who may need help navigating topics such as Social Services, affordable housing, SNAP, and other types of benefits that may be needed.
