Service & Justice Special Events

There are a number of larger service activities that the St. Charles Borromeo Community participates in and/or organizes throughout the year. These include:

Advent Giving Tree
An opportunity to share Christmas generosity with our materially poor sisters and brothers by taking a tag from the Giving Tree and donating the item listed on the tag.

A Night of 1,000 Lunches
A night of building community, making sandwiches, and assembling lunch bags for a local soup kitchen.

CRS Rice Bowl
During Lent, this is an opportunity to support the Mission of Catholic Relief Services here within the diocese and throughout the world. Donations support programs for those who are in need of food, shelter, and other services.

Mission Harvest Apple Picking
An opportunity to pick apples at a local orchard. Apples are donated in the lunch bags created during A Night of 1,000 Lunches.

Parish Coat Drive
Collecting coats to be distributed at a soup kitchen in Trenton.

Heifer Living Gift Market
Once a year, our parish hosts the Heifer Living Gift Market. All proceeds support the mission of Heifer International, an organization that helps families and communities make their way out of poverty through farming, education, training, and livestock. Set-up as a farmer’s market in our church hall, it is a wonderful family event.
