Mission and Core Values

Parish Mission Statement
The Roman Catholic Community of St. Charles Borromeo
in the Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey

We are a Catholic Community called to reflect the
teachings of Christ in our lives.

Through gathering for the Eucharist, prayer, and sacraments,
we live our faith by serving others, working for justice,
and creating a community where all are welcome.

By the grace of God, we are transformed individually
and as a community of faith.

Parish Core Values
The Roman Catholic Community of St. Charles Borromeo provides members of the parish a nourishing liturgical and spiritual life that challenges us to give witness to Jesus Christ amidst the realities of the world today.  Humbly called by God at each moment of our lives, we commit ourselves to following the core values:

Christ-Centered
We are dedicated to keeping Christ in our hearts and reflect his teachings in everything we say and do.

Community
We share a sense of belonging where people feel safe and connected to
one another as we walk the journey of faith.

Spirituality/Worship
We seek to strengthen our relationship with Christ and each other through prayer, the sacraments, and most importantly, the celebration of the Eucharist.

Faith in Action
We are called to use the gifts given to us to serve others, work for justice,
and make ours a living faith that is meaningful in the world today.

Welcoming
We foster an open and compassionate environment where all find acceptance.

We aspire to living these values guided by our patron, St. Charles Borromeo

Parish Prayer
We renew our commitment to
imitate the spirit and faith of our patron saint.

We will be the Church
that is committed to our faith and
will never cease praying and living these words of
Saint Charles Borromeo:

I will now begin to live for God
who has given me life.

Let there now be a beginning
of that true spiritual renewal
to which God has called
and is calling me in so many ways.
