In Confirmation, the new life that begins in Baptism is sealed and strengthened. Both God and the Christian community confirm that we are truly disciples of Jesus and members of the Church. The Sacrament of Confirmation unites us more firmly to Christ, increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us, and gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to be true witnesses of Christ)

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two year process usually beginning in seventh grade.
